Nominations are open to select a New Mexican "Top HAT" in the field of hospitality and tourism. The Top HAT (Hospitality and Tourism) Awards celebrates an outstanding team or individual that has shown exceptional dedication to their company's brand promise.  As the premier awards ceremony of the travel, tourism, and lodging industry in New Mexico, this annual dinner and awards ceremony celebrates the finalists and announce winners of the prestigious Top HAT Award. Recognition as a finalist is an impressive accomplishment and the winner displays best-in-class and innovative practices. This event is also the major fundraiser for the Hospitality and Tourism Scholarship Fund, powered by the Albuquerque Community Foundation.

These prestigious awards include:

Marketing Awards 

• Best Print Campaign (brochure, magazine, and other print media)
• Best Digital Campaign (social media, website, and other digital platforms)
• Best Broadcast Campaign (TV, radio, video, etc.)
• Most Innovative Campaign (All platforms including print, digital, broadcast, outdoor, PR, etc. is eligible)

Product Development Awards

• Outstanding Event (fairs, festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts, conventions, etc.)
• Outstanding Attraction (museum, exhibit, tour, etc.)
• Best New Experience (new tourism related event, attraction, experience, introduced after July 1, 2015)

Personnel Awards

• Front-of-House Food & Beverage Employee of the Year (Eligible “Front of House Employees” constitutes as employees who have high guest interaction.)
• Front-of-House Hospitality Employee of the Year (Eligible “Front of House Employees” constitutes as employees who have high guest interaction. Depending on how your property defines it, "Hospitality" may include: Front Desk, Bellman, Admin, Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, Management, etc.)
• Back-of-House Food & Beverage Employee of the Year (Eligible “Back of House Employees” constitutes as employees who have low guest interaction.)
• Back-of-House Hospitality Employee of the Year (Eligible “Back of House Employees” constitutes as employees who have low guest interaction. Depending on how your property defines it, "Hospitality" may include: Front Desk, Bellman, Admin, Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, Management, etc.)

Premier Awards

• Hospitality Professional of the Year (All hospitality personnel are eligible.)
• Tourism Professional of the Year (All tourism and marketing personnel are eligible.)
• Hotel of the Year (All hotels in New Mexico are eligible.)
• Destination of the Year (All destinations in New Mexico are eligible.)

Nomination tips:

A strong and well-written nomination is powerful to the judges, so remember to tell the story, be compelling, concise, and persuasive. Complement your nomination with back up support, including newspaper clippings, testimonials, reports, etc.
