My older sister has always been a positive influence in my life. She has been my role model, offered spiritual guidance, counselor, cheerleader and best friend.
What has been the highlight of your career?
On Friday, March 7, 1997 my Father stopped by the hotel to tell my goodbye before his drive back home to Scottsdale. He gave me the biggest bear hug ever and looked me straight into my eyes and said “I am so very proud of you”. Little did I know that was the last thing he would tell my in person. On Tuesday, March 11, 1997 I received a phone call during a site tour notifying me that he had a massive heart attack while walking his dog.
Red or Green?
Green all the way!
What is one suggestion or piece of advice you would share with young people entering the hospitality/tourism business?
Do not take things personally, stand out, always convey challenges in person or on the phone, don’t over promise and under deliver, love what you do (they will know if you don’t).
